PLAN YOUR TRIP!
Here are some of our favorite ways to spend the day in Jackson Hole.

A DAY OF HIKING IN GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

You’ll want to get an early start for your day of hiking in the park, as it tends to get more crowded throughout the day. Pack your bear spray and stop by PEARL STREET BAGELS in town or the ASPENS MARKET in Wilson to pick up a sandwich/bagel and a snack

for your hike.

Once you’ve made it to the park entrance in Moose and purchased your park pass at the gate, drive to one of the many trailheads in the park to begin your hike. Park Rangers will provide you with a map at the entrance. We recommend parking at the LUPINE MEADOWS trailhead and making the 10.5 mile moderately difficult out-and-back trek to AMPHITHEATER AND SURPRISE LAKES.

If you are looking for an easier (and flatter) hike, head to the TAGGART LAKE TRAILHEAD (arrive early to get a parking spot!) and begin the six mile loop hike around BRADLEY AND TAGGART LAKES, where you’ll take in the scenery of the Grand Teton up close.

Once you’ve made it back to the car after your hike, swing by DORNAN'S on the way out of the park for a well-earned beer with an exceptional view - they also have great pizza if you’re hungry for a snack (we recommend trying the Mount Moran)!

A DAY ON THE WATER IN GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

Start your day by heading to breakfast at NORA’S FISH CREEK INN in Wilson, where you will load up on fuel for the day with the Huevos Rancheros, chocolate chip pancakes, or one of their other many delicious options.

Rent paddle boards or kayaks in Teton Village at MUD ROOM, in the town of Jackson at RENDEZVOUS RIVER SPORTS, or online with superiorpaddlesports.com.

Once you’ve loaded up your car, drive to STRING LAKE and set up your towel and chairs along one of the lake’s many beaches. From there you can paddle-board or kayak around the beautiful, shallow lake, and enjoy stunning views of the Cathedral Group of the Tetons.

From String Lake, drive further north up to SIGNAL MOUNTAIN LODGE for a huckleberry mojito on the patio while overlooking Jackson Lake.

Interested in testing the local waters? Here are some fly fishing options we love:

WESTBANK ANGLES, SNAKE RIVER ANGLERS, or GRAND TETION FLY FISHING.

A DAY IN TOWN

(For the thrill seekers...)

Enjoy breakfast at locals favorite PICNIC, which has everything from smoked salmon & cucumber toast to hearty breakfast staples. You can also enjoy their famous pastries.

After breakfast, head to the SNOW KING RESORT to test your mettle on the thrilling COWBOY COASTER or the tamer ALPINE SLIDE. Other options include ZIP LINING and the ROPES COURSEThese activities descend through slopes of wildflowers while overlooking the town of Jackson.

Once you’re finished at Snow King, SNAKE RIVER BREWING provides an excellent venue for settling your adrenaline levels. With a large patio and great pub fare, we hope you’ll enjoy a cold one at our favorite local brewery.

For a change of pace, check out the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WILDLIFE ART north of Jackson. The permanent collection includes artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe and Andy Warhol, and ranges across history from 2,500 B.C.E. to the present.

Wrap up your activity-packed day by heading to the Town Square to get a drink at the famous SILVER DOLLAR BAR. You can’t miss out on ordering a beer at the bar made out of silver dollars!

A DAY IN TOWN

(For the shoppers...)

Start your day with brunch just off the Town Square at CAFE GENEVIEVE, located in a historic log cabin. Don’t forget to grab a bag of their famous PIG CANDY, which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

From there, make the short walk towards the square as you shop around local stores like ALTITUDE (cute women’s boutique), BELLE COSE (home store, kitchen goods, and clothier), and STIO (local mountain apparel). Other cute shops to check out are TERRAHABITS, and TWENTY-TWO HOME.

If you’re interested in perusing some local art, check out the MOUNTAIN TRAILS, RINGHOLZ, DIEHL, and RARE GALLERIES, along with the many other galleries located around the square.

When you’re ready for a break from shopping, stop for lunch at BIN 22, which features small plates, great value wines, spirits, and craft beers next to the bottle shop and small grocer.

After lunch, stop by J.W. BENNETT for a custom cowboy hat made by Jackson local Sarah Kjorstad. In addition to making all of the hats by hand, Sarah beads all of the hat bands and collects the feathers for the accessories herself. She is a true artist!

Finally, if you have a sweet tooth like the bride, treat yourself to MOO’S GOURMET ICE CREAM. We recommend the Buzz Bomb or Huckleberry flavors, but truly they are all delicious.

A DAY OF HIKING & EXPLORING IN TETON VILLAGE

Start your day by making the short trip to PERSEPHONE BAKERY on the Westbank in the Aspens for an egg sandwich and coffee (and a cookie to go).

The great thing about staying in Teton Village is that you can set out on a great hike right from your doorstep. Start up the WILDFLOWER TRAIL through the resort for a 4.2 mile moderate hike to the top of the Gondola, where you can reward yourself with a piece of pizza or a snack. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can continue on from there to the top of the Tram for another 4 miles.

Don’t pass up the opportunity to try a legendary waffle at CORBET’S CABIN at the top of the Tram. At either destination, you’ll catch a free ride down and give your legs a rest.

Once you’ve made it back down the mountain, stop in at THE HANDLE BAR for a drink and lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel. Do not leave Teton Village without visiting Stio Mountain Studio shop for mountain outdoor apparel and RODEO, an upscale women’s

fashion boutique.

If you are still feeling up for more excitement, try the mountain biking, paragliding, or rock climbing at the Via Ferrata within the ski resort.

Round out your day of adventure by dropping in at the MANGY MOOSE for happy hour on the deck. The Moose is an iconic ski town bar. Be sure to try the wings and a Jenny Lake Lager. You won’t regret it!
